Back to Blogging

I have always enjoyed writing.  When I was young. I wrote a lot of poetry.  I also journaled frequently, either on paper or a keyboard.  My favorite journal had black pages and I would decorate each page meticulously with gel pens.  I have a floppy disk of some of my old writings.  Maybe one day I’ll access it and see if anything is readable.

Over the years, I’ve continued to turn to writing in many forms.  Sometimes it has been a journal file on my laptop, others in notebook.  Several times, I have turned to blogging to record my life’s journey and to share with friends and family who I live far away from.

This year, I’ve found myself needing to step back from many things that we had been participating in, for my own mental and physical health, and for my family’s.  When I stepped far enough back, I found myself suddenly able to read a book and truly focus on it.  I also found myself feeling inspired to create again.  After some thought, I decided that I would enjoy blogging again.

Once I set up a page again (which is so much more complicated than I recalled), I immediately began writing and enjoying it immensely.  I then found that I could retrieve at least some of my posts from years past.  Cue the hyper focus! I’ve been copying posts from an archive one at a time and attempting to clean them up and repost them.  This is a tedious process that got more complicated when I decided to have a page dedicated to projects and information (www.learningtogetherwithlove.com) and to revive my old domain (www.mommamelanie.com) at the same time.

Nonetheless, the process of reviewing posts going back as far as 2007 (19 years!) has been a blessing.  My memory is unreliable.  Much of my life is a big cloud in my brain.  It is something I find frustrating and embarrassing but I try to accept that it is what it is.  Reading through my posts, I’m reliving joy, grief, celebrations, accomplishments, frustrations and so much love.

I don’t know how long it will take to correct missing links, reassign photos and organize it all.  In the mean time, bear with me.  ❤️ I’m so happy to be back.
