T.G.I.F.

Good Morning Everyone,

I had strange dreams last night.

First one: There was some sort of river near the house (no house I remember ever seeing but it apparently was where we lived). For some reason I knew we had to get away from something and I got to the river with the canoes and waited for James and some friends, I think they might have been my brother and sister in law but they didn’t look like them. So, they finally came to the canoes and someone brought a shotgun but was nervous about it, so I took the shotgun and we boarded the canoes. Then the lady from GCI (she was at the house yesterday installing another phone line) came up to the canoe and asked if we were going for a trip and we told her that it was just a short one and we’d be back very soon. She didn’t look like she believed us. We paddled off. I remember paddling along and realizing someone had brought my purse and I was thrilled. We might need to sell some of the things in it to people along the way. Somehow we ended up in the woods and away from the canoes. There was a huge forest fire and we were running from it. We ran towards water but someone got horribly burnt along the way, losing an arm or something (I think i watch too much tv?). We made our way to the water and I rounded up two horses, then a third (not sure where our fourth person ended up). The horses had no reigns, I just held them around their necks. They didn’t mind. We rode horses for a while, after a bit they dissapeared. We eventually ended up encountering a huge hog. He was very angry with us, not sure why. Everyone was scared but I shot him in the face with the shotgun and he died. We decided to skin the hog and eat some hog for dinner. The place we were sitting to skin him became very dark. I told our group I would prefer to move to a better lit area. Then a truck crashed through the area of woods we were in and another car began coming in. It seemed we had adventured our way into a campground. At this point we had two children about 3-6 years old and we borrowed one of their blankets to cover the pig so everyone thought we had a third child who was sleeping. Because we were new there, everyone crowded around and we finally decided to lie and say we were all tired to get everyone to go away. The plan was to sneak out before anyone noticed the hog. Again, not sure who we were running from, but boy were we running creatively.

Second One: I was apparently at a live-in-school which resembled my grandmother’s plantation house greatly and I had been ill for a while. I walked upstairs and my music teacher/choir teacher explained that she needed me to sing, but didn’t know what I sang. I told her soprano/alto and I could sing/play anything. She asked me to play piano, I told her I couldn’t and the class laughed. I asked if she wanted me to sing the solos because she had previously had me practice them. She told me that the song had changed. I practiced, not sounding too terrificm and she was going to let me sing. That night when trying to go to bed, there was a huge shortage of beds. Many small children needed places to sleep as well and I was assigned to about 4 of them. I tried to make room in my double bed, but I couldn’t make it work. If I left my bed, it was to talk to the lady in charge who resembled one of the managers I’ve worked for in the past and I’d get in trouble for leaving my post. Then there was a part where I was outside for a picnic or recess of some sort. There was a guy who I’d had a crush on who told me he loved me and kissed me. I don’t know the guy, at that point it was high school or something. I was thrilled. Then I went to bed, alone, minus the four kids and I remember overhearing a conversation regarding if we needed the oxygen (like the masks that fall down in the airplane if the pressure drops) we were out of luck because one of the residents needed all of it. (I work in the assisted living portion of the hospital where the infant room is located. The residents are, well, residents). So… then I woke up and heard music playing and realized it was a recording to practice with for the concert. Everyone was gone. I walked downstairs and everyone was leaving, the concert was over. Someone else had sung my solo and the guy who I’d had a crush on was embarrassed by me. I had no ride home, no where to go. It was a sad ending.

I had another dream but I don’t recall it. Drama drama drama. I’m going to eat some breakfast and maybe post again. My tummy pain from yesterday is still here, but the ginger from dinner last night did it’s job and I’m not nauseated. Whoohoo!
