Preschool Homeschool : The Letter J
We opted to homeschool instead of enrolling our son in standard Pre-K. I am sharing with you some of the activities we did to learn about the letter J. Whether you homeschool or not, these are short and sweet ways to reinforce letter learning. This post is short because we did “J Day” on a Saturday and also had activities with Poppa and an Ice Cream date, overdue from “I Day.”
Highlight-a-Letter by Babbling Abby. I use these for my oldest (4), with the more complicated page (including tracing and printing space) on the first day and the less complicated one for review on the second.
My youngest (2), colors on her own so that I can assist her brother with this. She got to color Jetta (Clifford), today. A great alternative is Jake (Neverland Pirates)
We did a “J is for Jellyfish craft, inspired by many great pinterest ideas and Crystal&Co.
I cut out a Letter J for each of the munchkins and some strips of tissue paper. I turned the J over and had the kids put glue and attach the tissue paper. The kids asked for googly eyes. Cute!
We hung the Letter J up on the wall and I offered a Jelly Bean surprise as rewards for recognizing letters… BUT… my kids apparently don’t like them. Funny.
Our lessons were started around 9:30 tonight. We have a really off schedule, these days. But the kids had fun and we got them done! Yay!
